Washington DC, July 28, 2020 – The Forum for Collaborative Research announced the publication of the manuscript, “Association Between Seroclearance of Hepatitis B Surface Antigen and Long-term Clinical Outcomes of Patients With Chronic HBV Infection: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis” in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. 

Washington DC, April 27, 2020 – The Forum for Collaborative Research announced the acceptance and online publication of the manuscript, “Standardization of Diet and Exercise in Clinical Trials of NAFLD-NASH: Recommendations from the Liver Forum” in Journal of Hepatology. 

“Lifestyle modification is the foundation of treatment recommendations for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis,” said Veronica Miller, PhD, Executive Director of the Forum for Collaborative Research. “But clinical trial design is impeded by the absence of consistent approaches and documentation of lifestyle changes, and understanding the potential influence on trial outcomes.”

Washington DC, June 12, 2019 – The Forum for Collaborative Research announced its recognition of International NASH Day (IND). Over 30 organizations are coming together today to raise awareness for NASH and promote early intervention of this disease, which affects more than 115 million people worldwide.

Washington DC, November 8, 2017 – The Liver Forum is pleased to announce the publication of its first manuscript, Baseline Parameters in Clinical Trials for Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis: Recommendations From the Liver Forum,published as a Commentary in the September 2017 volume of the peer-reviewed journal Gastroenterology. The development of this manuscript included input and contributions from key opinion leaders in the field of NASH, and was led by Dr. Yuval Patel (Duke University), Dr. Andrew Muir (Duke University), and Dr. Joanne Imperial (Conatus Pharmaceuticals). We, the Forum for Collaborative Research, affiliated with the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health, are celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year. This milestone comes with changes as a result of the Forum’s achievements, and recommendations from our Executive Committee members. For the past two decades, the Forum’s work with HIV has evolved into a disease-specific model for multi-stakeholder collaboration that now addresses other disease areas including liver diseases (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis), viral hepatitis (B and C), cytomegalovirus, among others. Thus, the Forum for Collaborative Research will now be comprised of different disease-specific Forums including:

• The HCV Forum
• The HIV Forum
• The Liver Forum
