Dr. Tamar Tchelidze is a Senior Policy Fellow at the Forum for Collaborative Research and manages the HIV Forum. Tamar has over twenty years of experience in global health, building public-private partnerships, and senior-level policy advice with a focus on communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis. She initiated and negotiated the successful National Hepatitis C Elimination Program for Georgia, a model public-private partnership with CDC, Gilead Inc., and the Ministry of Health of Georgia. In collaboration with the National Institute of Health, Tamar co-chaired the Regional Training Workshops on HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and TB. She also received advanced HIV laboratory training at CDC. Recently, Tamar co-led with Thailand the historical process of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Political Declaration at the United Nations. Before this appointment, she served as a Counselor at the Embassy of Georgia in Washington, DC. Tamar established an esteemed reputation for her ability to galvanize international partners to plan and implement large scale public-private health initiatives in her native country of Georgia.
