Dr.
David Anderson joins the Forum Executive Committee while holding a position as
a US Medical Director in the virology unit of Tibotec Therapeutics. Dr.
Anderson currently oversees the NNRTI franchise for Tibotec where, amongst
other responsibilities, he represents the US operating company globally and
conducts research on currently available and investigational
antiretrovirals. His areas of research interest within the field of HIV
include investigation of alternative treatment strategies, ARV compartment
penetration, and disparities in care within the HIV+ population. Prior to
his current role, Dr. Anderson worked as an Associate Medical Director at Gilead
Sciences, Inc for several years as his first venture into pharmaceutical
industry work. These efforts were preceded by a lengthy period working in
practice and research as a principle investigator to serve the needs of
patients who were HIV positive. He obtained his MD at the University of
California, Los Angeles and completed a residency in Family Medicine and a
fellowship in HIV Medicine.
