Dr. Judith A. Aberg Assumes NYU Jeffrey Bergstein Professorship in Medicine

The Forum is pleased to congratulate Executive Committee Member Dr. Judith Aberg for assuming the Jeffrey Bergstein Professorship in Medicine effective September 2012.  

Dr. Aberg is the Director of Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the NYU Department of Medicine.  She is a Professor of Medicine and serves as Principal Investigator of an NIAID-supported AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU) at the NYU School of Medicine.  Dr. Aberg has completed over 100 research studies, and currently holds grants to support more than 30 ongoing projects.

As a member of the Forum's Executive Committee, Dr. Aberg previously served as the committee's Academic Co-Chair.  She also contributed to important Forum meetings such as Metrics and Evaluation Measures for Monitoring the Implementation of Routine HIV Testing and the 2008 National Summit on HIV Diagnosis, Prevention and Access to Care.

Dr. Aberg also serves as an Editor for HIV Clinical Trials, and serves on editorial boards and as an ad hoc reviewer for multiple biomedical journals.  She is considered a leader in the scientific community through her ongoing clinical research activities in HIV-related opportunistic infections, liver disease, and cardiovascular disease.  Dr. Aberg has a national reputation as a scientific leader and frequently lectures at international and national HIV/AIDS conferences, symposia and workshops.
